Yeah, I've yet to get my hands on the last Harry Potter book still. But I've been so good, no spoilers for me!

But my mom is thinking of taping the last pages together so I'm don't read the ending first. She's thoughtful like that.

So, I'm distracting myself by working on those interest icons.

Holy mother are those fucking hard to do. Two reasons; 1. I'm looking for the caps all by myself, and it's hard to figure out the best cap to use, since I'm trying to do only one icon per interest. So, I've cheated a little and looked at people's userpics. 2. I want to work extra hard on them because they're requests. Which I guess means finding a new coloring technique, which is very tricky.

Yeah.

So, how's everyone's weekend?

taping the pages together is a good idea, once i got about 2 thirds of the way in i was DYING to skip forward and find out what was going to happen!
my weekend has been weird, i stayed up to read DH and ended up not going to bed at all, so friday and saturday were like one day, so much so that i just drove all the way to the supermaket for washing powder and didn't realise til i got there that it's closed cause it's sunday!!
enjoy your day! (and the book, when you get it - i loved it myself, so hopefully you will too!)

Yeah, the temptation is gonna be a lot, but I think I'm strong enough. Or at least hope so!

It's not like I'm gonna take a long time to read it, I know I'm just gonna sit down and read it all at once!

I hope to enjoy the book myself, I'm glad you loved it!

It's been weird for me, because I am still only on book 4 and while I wouldn't be crushed to be spoiled, I would be disappointed. I don't have time to read anything that long at the moment - fanfic comes in nice, bite-sized pieces mostly. I've managed to stay relatively, blissfully ignorant of much since then. I'm kind of waiting to see how long it lasts!

Yeah, hopefully you'll be able to be as spoiler free as possible. It's easy for me now because I've been out of the HP fandom for over 2 years now, or so, and I have no desire to return and want to be surprised.

No visiting Wikipedia, I've heard they're not so kind. If that's of any help.

As wanky as DW fandom can get, nothing terrifies me like HP fandom. I mean, I actually can see the appeal of some of the dominant strains of fanfic (though the quality is highly, hugely variable and mostly not very good), but I've just brushed by a couple of posts on my f-list, which isn't very HP-oriented, and thought, "Wow, that fandom is even more seriously f'd up than Due South, which eventually just beat any dissent into the dust."

Thanks for the heads-up about Wikipedia.

I wasn't involved in the LJ HP fandom, but it was pretty crazy elsewhere. Especially after book six, but the scariness there actually came from an interview JKR gave that pissed lots of people off.

I got out while I still could. And I'm so happy about that.

No problem! :D
