Hmmm...

This is so random... but I still don't get all the Squee about David Tennant. He doesn't particularly impress me, although I find him adorable in interviews, and he's not very pretty, IMO.

It's okay though. I get that some people do. Just like some people don't see what's so great about Chris Eccleston. They're mental I'm okay with that.

And I've written another Office fic.

And how the fuck have I not shared my glee that Jenna Fischer (Pam from The Office) was nominated for an Emmy?! I was so in love with Pam in S3, and it's absolutely fabulous that she's been recogonized, even if she doesn't win. And an obvious congrats to Rainn and Steve for their noms as well.

And Alec Baldwin better win for 30 Rock. He makes that show.

Has anyone seen FX's Damages? The first episode was really good, some twists that'll get the show going and I'm definitely into it.

Rose Byrne didn't particularly grab me, like I was hoping she would, but I'm thinking she will soon enough. Glenn Close kicks ass, as usual. And Ted Danson as the alleged bad guy? Awesome.

I squee you. I watched Damages today and I kept trying to place Rose Byrne. I looked it up and she played Brieses in Troy. I loved Achilles and Brieses. I know the movie veered away from the Illiad in so many ways, but I didn't care. I even read fic about them. She was also in Casanova with DT. She looks so different in this.

Aww *hugs and loves you* I remember her from Troy, and I too was okay that they changed it and made it quite different from the Illiad (which is still one of my favorite stories). One thing that stayed the same? My love for Hector :D

She was in Casanova? Dude, I would know that if I ever actually sat and watched it!

Tennant's my type to a T (I'll be here all week, folks!) - tall, geeky, dark-haired, vaguely rodent-esque. But Chris? I'll take him in anything. Even feathers. (http://www.allmoviephoto.com/c/2007_The_Dark_is_Rising_ChristopherEccleston.html)

Maybe it's the rodent-esque thing about DT that turns me off?

But holy god, Chris. *loves him like woah* Your icons makes me want to cry.

Random, but true and I agree. Unfortunately the lad does nothing for me. And I sit and scratch my head over the squee. And as for Chris, wow, you're on totally on target about that: they're mental. But, to each their own. Ours is just better ;)

Pretty much! Still wish everyone could see the awesome that is Chris!

Oh, shoot. I missed Damages. I meant to watch because Glenn Close kicks ass. And you know, I never liked Cheers all that much, but Ted Danson in Body Heat was one of those star-making performances.

As for DT? Sigh. I can't get it either. I can actually deal with people thinking he's attractive. It's the thinking that he's a good actor that bugs me. He can, every once in a while (once a series, on average) give a good performance in a scene, but he's got no depth and no coherence and really rocky technique.

Glenn Close is teh awesome here, and I'm sure she's gonna be rocking this series.

It's when people compare DT and CE that it gets to me, but seriously? IMHO, there's no competition.

The thing is, it doesn't have to be a competition, but it seems inevitable. I'm trying to compose a response to someone who seems very sweet but keeps trying to convince me that Tennant isn't a bad actor, it's not a bad performance, it's just a different style, and I'm saying, "Yes, I know it's a different style. But he's not doing a good job with that, either. You say you see him using his joy to cover up pain - I see a smug git who'd rather wallow in his emo-ness than actually risk pain further down the line by not enjoying what he has when he has it." Only, y'know, more polite. Because she seems nice and likes CE, too. But I'm not going to lie and say, "Well, it's just a style difference," when I think it's a bad performance. He's not a terrible actor 100% of the time...just 95%. ::sigh:: See, I've been writing an essay about this all day in my head! :-)

It has also occurred to me that one reason I find Ten so repugnant as a character is exactly this wallowing in his own misery. Nine *died* so that he could give that up, and Ten isn't living with the gift, so all in all, Nine died for NOTHING!!!! And so did Eight, come to think of it. Grrrr. Stupid, selfish Ten.

It's sad that the writers don't see this partiular problem. It's like, fine, people can read different things into each character, but the fact that there are people who believe this about Ten (which I do, to a certain extent, and you most certainly do!), the writers should see this, yes?

And it's annoying that they're constantly undermining Nine's run. And constantly telling us how wonderful Ten is. Well, I suppose that could be stretched to the Doctor in general. But it's in Ten's run that it's being repeated how wonderful he is. *gags*

Yeah. I can't really figure out my type. Although, I'm starting to think bigger ears are in there somewhere.

That sucks about Dexter, especially since it's on Showtime (right?) and they always get noticed.

Hmmm...I think Steve is the only one on The Office that gets considered for lead. So, Jenna gets nominated for supporting. I don't get it, her and Rainn are in the main credits so...
