You know what? The first few years of Malcolm in the Middle were awesome and hilarious. Francis at boot camp was just...so funny and Hal and Lois are just perfect. It's one of those sitcoms that's overlooked, I think.

Kind of like how King of the Hill is overlooked because it's aired with The Simpsons and Family Guy, but it's just as good, and in ways so much better, than both.

Although, someone's watching it as it's been on, what, 13 years?

Yeah.

That's all. I was just watching an episode on TV and it always cracks me up.

And..........yes, I haven't done it in forever, but I have a new icon post over at [livejournal.com profile] inconceivable_m. It includes my first UK Office icons. I really need to acquire those episodes to watch over again.

I love <i.King of the Hill</i>. Luann FTW! I really liked Malcolm too, I just found it gross sometimes. LOL I thought the finale was great.

I know what you mean about too gross, heh. I honestly don't remember the finale. What happened?

I love both of those shows - Malcolm frayed a little toward the end, but frankly, KOTH has stayed excellent longer than the Simpsons did. It helps that I'm from Texas and know why it's funny that Bobby goes to Tom Landry Middle School or that Hank is terrified of the Texas Railroad Commissioner. ;-)

Yeah, my family and I stopped watching at one point, but it was excellent for a long time. And we loved watching KOTH. I always catch re-runs on FX, it's just really awesome and hilarious. And then I get an extra fondness of it because it's co-creator is Greg Daniels, and he gave us the US version of The Office.

Oh, you're talking about the recent episode about Peggy's birthday? I loved that one.

KOTH is the best family sitcom on TV, live-action or not, since Roseanne, but is perhaps more consistently good. Bobby is such a wonderful character, Connie reminds me a lot of myself at her age (even though I pushed myself rather than my parents pushing), and Peggy is my mother to a frightening degree (more the way she looks than her overconfidence).

Yes, the Peggy's birthday episode - but the thing is, convoluted as it was, he was right to be frightened of the Texas Railroad Commissioner - that's the most important/influential post in Texas, forget Governor or Speaker of the House. The TRC regulates all intra- and interstate commerce and all energy shipment/sales - so yes, he could, in fact, be in danger of losing his position as a purveyor of propane and propane accessories! ;-)
