I am so heartsick about what happened at Virginia Tech. At least 31 dead. God, I just want to curl up and cry for these people, their families and the 20-some people injured and their families and the students that witnessed.

It's heartbreaking.

Just realized, the number of deaths seemed to be between 29-32. This count, I believe, includes the shooter himself because he is dead. I'm sure we'll have a sure count later.

I am just praying for these families and students and faculty.

A friend of a friend of mine, who's actually on campus there right now, says it's 32. Apparently the latest theory is that the gunman was dumped, and he went out and shot his ex-girlfriend in the dorms, then her boyfriend in the engineering block, and a ton of their classmates at the same time. D:

I'm more angry than anything, I think. Mostly because, WTF? Nearly two hours passed between the first report o gunshots and the second half of the guy's spree, and the emergency services still hadn't arrived to investigate the initial report?

I hadn't heard that! That's absolutely ridiculous that it took them so long.

What I'm hearing is, the investigators had just gotten to the other side of campus and were investigating the first reports of shooting when the second lot started to happen. And no warning emails were sent out to the students until a good two hours after the initial shooting started!

What would take them so long? This whole thing is just so terrible.

I honestly do not know. Someone is going to be brought to book over that, I'm sure.

Yeah, I saw some reports were still at 22 for dead. It just feels so unreal.

*headdesk* unfortunately, I am becoming used to seeing things like these being all too real.. so much so that the surreality of it wears off very quickly. I still remember freaking that I couldn't get in touch with my friend and my cousin in London on 7/7..

It's just gotten bad. To think that someone would willingly kill 30 people is beyond my comprehension and then it happens and it just...it makes me numb.

I just don't get it either. It just hurts so much to think people are capable of this.
