So.....SGA and Doctor Who fandoms are joining forces to drive everyone bonkers, right?

At least the SGA meltdown is just amusing the hell out of me, mostly because I'm pissed off right now with SGA and I'm don't want to be and everyone's meltdown over something so stupid, just makes it more amusing to me.

And the DW wars...people, just grow up. It's a show, there was a change, if you're still watching, SUCK IT UP. There is no "forever" in Doctor Who, it's the fucking point. And no, Billie/Rose is not coming back. If you don't like Martha, okay! If you don't miss Rose, okay! If you like Martha, and miss Rose, that's fine too!

Just...yeah, it's tiring to always be saying this, it just makes me feel better.

Yeah, that's it, I don't wanna get bitter about this. I was so full of joy when I joined the SGA and DW fandoms, and I don't want to be dragged down. So, it's amusing, I'm pretending it is and I'm sticking to my wonderful f-list because you guys are love and sane.

Plus, a few weeks ago, there was something going on about racism in SGA fics, placing Teyla and Ronon and some others in AU fics in "lower class" positions. Or something like that. I didn't really get into that one.

This made me think of you: I actually stumbled across a part of fandom that loathes Sheyla. Except, they're in love with McShep and are probably serious when they believe that Sheppard's gay and aren't fond of Elizabeth.

Yeah, I see a lot of wanking when it comes to the part where we found out Sheppard was married. On the one hand, I don't like it, but on the other, it's vastly interesting to think about the fact that John was married.

Hm...I kinda did address both, unless you're referring to the part I said Billie's not coming back. I haven't seen too much of Martha is sooo much better than Rose, or maybe the Martha is a selfish whore just rubs me wrong even more, I don't know. It doesn't seem like either side is letting go and it's painful to see that around.

It's just my f-list. I don't read too many strangers reviews, after the incident with "Gridlock", I've had to stop that.

I'm curious where you go that you encounter so much Rose hate, surely not your own f-list?

Oh it's easy to stay away. I really don't need to go anywhere. It comes to me. Not on my own flist. That's where it all gets linked though. People who have never had an argument with anyone go to what seems an innocous comm and in comes the hate. They vent on their LJs just as we all do. In fact, many of the haters seem more interested in slamming Rose then discussing S3.

I'm so glad I haven't stumbled across that extreme. I've seen some put downs on Rose, but not to a bad extent. Maybe I'm just the weirdo that doesn't see the need to even bring Rose into S3. (Besides the few mentions there's been in the show, but they seem to be gone now)

Oh I have heard all the British insults. Well, I grew up with Irish people so I knew some of them, the rest I learned from As If and asking my VM English pal. I actually have English cousins. When I got into DW, I e-mailed my cousin Paul all the time. He never liked DW so he was like shut up. I also made him buy me Billie's book. Here is a man going in to buy it with all the teenie boppers. He was mortified.

Oh yeah it was twat waffles and Cat had pics of a bunny with a pancake on its head. Good times. When I look at the shippers who do get out of hand, many of them are young kids. What's the excuse of people in their thirties and forties or hell even twenties only showing up in places to beat down Rose fans and people who like the ship? If they are secure in what they know of DW, why need to do that? Why the need to stalk livejournals and repeat over and over and over again that companions leave and Rose was like everyone else? People don't have to accept anything. It's a freaking TV show. Everyone can like or dislike it as they see fit. I just don't get the need to force the issue. I like classic Who, but guess what there are whole scores of people who couldn't care less about the history. They are watching it now and don't need anyone to pull out their fuzzy VHS tapes to prove their points. The sandbox is big enough for everyone.

And also, who can we employ to write the crossover fic with Elizabeth and Nine? I read one where Ten or Nine (they never specified and that ruined a little of it for me) picked up Elizabeth in "Before I Sleep" right after the Ancients left her alone on Atlantis. It was okay, but it left a lot to be desired because I wanted WAY MORE.

I think the author said it could be Nine or Ten and I obviously read it as Nine.

And it was cool, because they took two of my favorite shows and smushed them together and it was just so fun to imagine. But I wanted more! More details and longer fic. Because I'm selfish like that.

And SGA seems to be the only show I'll read AUs of.
