I just watched the first 20-30 minutes or so of Drive (the pilot episode) so now I know what everyone was laughing about with the drive from Key West!
Being a FL resident all my life, I know a little about me state.
And I've driven to Key West twice. The length of the FL Keys, from like Key Largo to Key West is about 2 hours. So, if you're driving from Miami to Key West, settle in for about a good three hour drive.
So, the fact that everyone is still driving along the bridge-less keys (I'll get to that in a moment), and one of then is already in Boca Raton, is extremely laughable. It means he got an hour or two head start, which I thought seemed established that he started out with everyone else.
And the MOST LAUGHABLE PART, when he went on the off-ramp, YOU SAW MOUNTAINS for a moment. Hold on, let me wipe away my tears of laughter.
And here I thought it was common knowledge that Florida is flat. Like, no cliffs, no hills unless you count sand dunes and NO MOUNTAINS.
Also, pretty much for the length of the keys (until you start onto the mainland after going through Key Largo), you see water on one or both sides of you on the highway, usually both sides of you, so the fact that you saw land, and the little hills of grass pretty much the whole time was incorrect.
And the Keys, as most of you probably know, are a string of little islands, so yes, you should have seen them going over lots of bridges. I was disappointed that you didn't really see them going over the famous 7-mile bridge. I love that bridge.
The officers, or highway patrolmen, I never know what to call them, probably should have been wearing dark green uniforms, but I'll let that slide.
And was I the only one that knew Jupiter was a FL city? Sorry, maybe FL residents just found that clue too easy. Like me.
Had to get that off my chest.
I'll keep watching the show because I love Nathan Fillion, and I want to see Amy Acker, but I really really need to suspend my disbelief while they're driving through FL.
