A few notes on why I really love "Tao of Rodney".
I love this episode for many many reasons, mostly because it made me really appreciate the friendship between Elizabeth and Rodney. Has there ever been an episode really, that highlights this, besides this one?
And that scene where he gives her the 500-page "book" about her? Awesome. Not only because I think it's something Elizabeth deserves, but I think it'd be a hoot to read the book, especially since he went into her background.
And of course, I'm extremely easy when it comes to my ship (Sheppard/Weir), so it was very lovely to see them have lunch together, by themselves.
And I love that Elizabeth "made" John help Rodney. Because 1)She seemed to only suggest it, and the fact that John did it says that he wants to help and that maybe her suggesting he do it meant a lot. (Yes, I may be reaching) And 2) His face was so cute when she said he should be the one to help.
And even though, I don't ship them, the many scenes between Rodney and Elizabeth were just lovely and I loved him teasing her at the end. And that she didn't retract that "We love you", just tried to reason that she wasn't declaring her all time love for him.
My dad was amused as well, he actually said "In your dreams" when Rodney was going on about his and Elizabeth's "spark" or whatever word he used.
I...don't know where I was going with that, I thought I would be adding thoughts I had written when the episode first aired in Canada, but apparently, I never wrote them on LJ. Only that I liked the episode.
Huh.
ALSO, random Doctor Who note:
When my dad and I was watching Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (a cartoon based off the movie) the other day, the main character has a...get this...a Time Booth. Ha! I'm not actually sure if it's related to DW, but dude, it's a phone booth that time travels. My dad saw it was like "Hey, it's like Doctor Who!" And I can't even tell you the last time he caught an episode of the show.
He's such a geek.

Date: 2007-05-05 04:26 am (UTC)A lot of the kids' shows my little ones are watching I'm seeing a lot of references to stuff I know from ages ago, and at first I thought the writers were being sloppy and recycling, then I realized... The freakin' writers are my age and drawing on all the stuff we all saw and experienced way back when.
I think that's why I like the Pixar movies and SpongeBob, even Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
