Again, I love the Martha one with the moon behind, nicely done!

And I love the cropping of The Office icon. I really LOVE it and I don't even watch the show.

As for the SGA icons, I like your colouring. You always do such a nice colouring for that show.

It's a highly iconned scene, so it's hard to get a crop not already done, but I'm so glad it works at all!

I absolutely love making SGA icons, I'm glad you like the coloring, that is by far the hardest part. Thank you! *hugs*

Yeah, I've seen it many times in some of my flisters' entries. Maby have an icon of that scene. But it doesn't change that I like your cropping a lot :p

Speaking of which, I tried to make some icons myself, but I've always been terribly bad with those. I wondered if you didn't mind giving me a professional opinion on the batch I just did.

You probably don't know the show (Blood Ties), but it's just really a question of saying what works and what doesn't... if it's ok with you, of course :)

Oh thanks!! I'd love to hear what you have to say!!! Your icons are always so neat!

I don't know why but the size of icons always scare me and I'm afraid I haven't started to try those with an easy show. Most of it happens the night and the screencaps quality, well, not the best, but that's actually a good thing. You'll have more things to point out then :p

First, do you save them as PNGs or JPGs? That could affect the overall quality of the icon, and some of them look like that might be the issue. PNG is what icons are usually saved as, and if not, then as a high quality JPG.

Overall, actually, I quite like them. The text on pretty much all of them are great and you have a nice cropping style.

I, personally, am not a big fan of lots of reds and yellows in icons and the one labelled "dangerous" is just too red for me! But that's okay, if it's a look you're going for, like I said, it's just not in my taste.

I really love the "watching", "team" and "bite me" ones, particularly the "bite me" one.

So, um, I have no idea if that was helpful to you in any way! But if there's any questions, let me know! And curious, what program do you use?

It's funny because I just saw your comment but yesterday night, while I was making some other icons, I was rewatching those that I showed you and I was thinking too that I didn't like the "dangerous" one much. Too much red :D and I'm not too fond of the Open yet since you barely see anything. But I'm glad you like the other :)

OH, I have GIMP! I used to use that before I got Photoshop. Awesome. Maybe I'll try making a batch just with GIMP sometime. I haven't used it in forever.

Yeah, when you finish an icon, go to save as and then pick .PNG

OH, I really like the new ones! Especially the "you&me", "suddenly" and "kryptonite". The "nelson" one is just a bit too bright, but otherwise very cool.

Heh, damn, you caught onto me. You know, I thought I prided myself on NOT getting into shows because of ship, and yet, this entire year has gone against that. There has been many a show where I got really involved because of ship. Bah!

And if you ever want a more up-to-date tutorial, because I would use GIMP differently now, let me know! I just played with my GIMP a little because I wanted to make icons for an icontest. And that may have sounded a little dirty.

You know, it's the ship that got me into watching Blood Ties.
Often you find other reasons to like a show once you watched it, but I'm not feeling guilty for getting hooked on them because of ships. Ship is important :D

A tutorial would be awesome, but I don't want force you into anything. The ones I found are already very good! :D Just do one if you want, play with Gimp a little, (you dirty icon-maker :p)

I always try to tell myself that ship isn't important, and there are shows I watch that ship doesn't. But then I found out that some shows, I need the ship.

I think it'd be fun to do a tutorial. Maybe I'll work on that tomorrow. Get myself into GIMP again. Plus, there's not that much difference between that and Photoshop. I just like using the selective color in PS, which isn't in GIMP, but really, with my icons now, I'm not really using selective coloring like I used to. So, lots my stuff can be translated over. Now you got me all into it!

Another question though (promise I'll shut up after). In some of your tutorials, you talk about New Adjustement Layers, but it doesn't seem like it exists in Gimp, not under this term at least...

I really like your icon batch! One of the few problems I see is that it's clear the caps are the best. And you saved some as PNG? 'Cause it looks like it.

LOL. I figured you had forgotten the "Aren't" :D

Yeah, the caps are a bit blurry and most of the scenes happen the nights so you can't do miracles with those. I think that when the show will air in the US, someone will get a better copy of the episode and will make caps of a better quality. Until now... :S

But thanks to your help and tutorials, the icons actually look like something :D
