SGA - Elizabeth Weir
Dec. 8th, 2007 09:03 pmSo...some more thoughts...
You guys know my love of certain characters, and you know I love Lizzie, so...am I a bad Elizabeth fan because I'm not going to stop watching the show?
Because I enjoyed last night's episode.
Sure it ripped my heart out and pissed me off, they killed an amazing character, they got rid of a fabulous and gracious and talented actress and stuff...
But I liked the episode. (I'm hearing a lot about this being a rip-off of an SG-1 episode, but this is why I'm glad I don't know, I haven't really seen that much of SG-1.)
It showed us an amazing Elizabeth, the one I admire and the love. It doesn't matter if that wasn't the "real" Elizabeth, that was our Lizzie.
But I'm not going to stop watching. When the show takes a turn for the worst, then I'll think about it.
Because if I'm honest, this season hasn't been bad, IMO. Just left a bad taste because they got rid of Elizabeth/Torri.
Okay, so I haven't actually watched a few episodes...sue me. It's not the first half of S3, where I enjoyed and nearly loved all of them. But the ones I've watched, I've enjoyed. Mostly.
Alright, I'm just trying to say that this season so far hasn't sucked, in my opinion. I've certainly seen worst.Which is why I won't mention "Reunion".
So, basically, yes, I'll miss Elizabeth like hell and it'll be something I'll never forgive the show for, but I'm not going to stop watching. I can't. My curious nature won't let me. Seriously, until I actively lose interest in it (like I did Grey's Anatomy and Gilmore Girls), I'm gonna keep watching. Just like Doctor Who.
Please don't disown me?

Date: 2007-12-09 09:54 am (UTC)Keep watching. From what I've heard, there is some good stuff this season, despite all the bad.

Date: 2007-12-09 03:41 pm (UTC)So, I'm gonna feel weird watching, knowing that she's probably never gonna show up ever again, and that might taint my viewing in the future, but right now, I'm gonna keep watching, 'cause like you said, there is some good this season. :D

Date: 2007-12-09 09:26 pm (UTC)I really don't think so. I mean, some people, the only reason they're watching the show is for the one character. So when that one character leaves? They leave. But if you like the show even without that one character, I don't see why you shouldn't keep watching. It's like me and Doctor Who; I love Rose, and was very disappointed when she left. But her absence isn't going to keep me from watching a show I love, you know?

Date: 2007-12-10 01:14 am (UTC)I'm sort of the same way about DW. For about an hour after TLotTL, I was so upset about Martha leaving (especially since I didn't expect it), I told myself I was done with the show.
Yeah, AN HOUR. heh But I'm totally gonna watch :D
