I finally did it! I am now officially not a member of time_and_chips. I've also removed and left doctorwho.

I'm a little sad how easy it is to remove myself from the majority of the Doctor Who LJ fandom, but I have lifeonmartha and there's the newsletter, or whatever, so I'm fine, and not completely out.

Yet. :)

Speaking of Doctor Who, I'm currently trying to get my ideas, thoughts and stuff together to finish two or three Martha fics. I've had ideas hitting me, and I've started two of them, but I can't finish them. We'll see how that goes.

I'm proud of you!! *huggles* you'll see that you'll feel better. I was never part of any Doctor Who community, except for Doctor Who icons and I'm quite happy with it. Never got into the fandom, never got into the wank, it FEELS GOOD!

Oh, I took doctorwho off my f-list a long time ago. I was very happy to see that I didn't really miss it at all, I just left the comm.

But I still know what you mean, it gets hard to leave some comms :D

I haven't done that yet...but I don't pay much attention to it, it's true. I know what you mean about the feeling of liberation. On a slightly different level, I realized after Utopia that I was never going to like Ten or Tennant's performance, and stopping hoping made it much easier to watch the rest! I still love S1, but I think of it more like a one-off, with an inferior sequel.

Yeah, it just turned out to be a hate-hate relationship with that comm, so it had to go.

And I know what you mean about Ten, the writers don't see any problems with the character, so there's nothing they see to fix, so the problems we have aren't going to be solved, so it does feel like there's no hope for improvement, which is sad because they were close in S3, IMHO. And it does help a little because I can stop getting my hopes up for each episode.

Yeah. I really do not understand why everyone thinks he's so cute and woobie. I wanted Donna to hit him, repeatedly, so badly, but they've got her snogging him. Blech. (I've gotten to the point where I react viscerally to his picture.)

Have you seen this (http://community.livejournal.com/pinsandplims/1838.html)? I thought it was interesting that not only were people going for exactly the things that bother me about characterization (the acting is a problem, but the characterization bugs me even more), but it's a Ten community!

Good for you. I myself wouldn't touch lifeonmartha with a ten foot pole, so I so understand wanting to avoid a comm with all its subtle hate and batshit. I happily play in my D/R sandbox with people who have fun and like to squee rather then bitch, moan, stalk and play in the bitter barn because they didn't get what they want. I hope doing this gives you a more enjoyable time.

Yeah, I'm hoping for a more enjoyable time with the show as well. I just have a feeling it's not just fandom that's giving me trouble. :)

I'd ask why you say that about lifeonmartha, but I think I know. I don't like the rep the comm has seemed to have gotten, because I think it's wrong for the most part, but there's still comments I see that just don't belong on that comm. So, I get it :D

Oh there are quite a few reasons I cringe at anything lifeonmartha and none of it is character related. To me, from what I have seen, it earned its rep. I cannot tell you how excited I am for S4. S3 failed in so many ways for me, that thinking about S4 is already getting me pumped up. I loved Voyage of the Damned and felt things were getting back on track, so hopefully that will continue.

I still haven't watched VotD. If I actually liked Ten, I'd be looking forward to S4, because I did like Donna. I just...*shrugs*
