Hey you guys!

So, here's a question, is it weird to want to icon a show that you don't actually watch?

'Cause I do.

P.S.
You know what would also be lovely? If some of you awesome f-listers would be able to make me actually excited about the upcoming season of Doctor Who.

There's reasons I should be, but the fact remains, I still haven't seen the Christmas special, and still have no desire to. I mean, I adored Donna, Martha's coming back, the trailers looks fantastic, but...I'm NOT FUCKING FEELING IT.

RTD broke me, I think.

I'm thinking of finally starting Torchwood S2 tonight. And I'll be getting around to Skins soon. We'll see what spoilers say after Monday's episode.

And if I'm not on tomorrow: Happy Easter!

No worries babe, I kind of want to icon Pushing Daisies... and I don't watch that.

Sorry I can't uplift you about DW. I'm too bouncy-squeeful-excited about the upcoming fourth season of Battlestar Galactica...

Heh, it's just funny to me to get that urge to icon a show you don't watch!

OH, but I'm excited about BSG, looks so good :D

Not necessarily - did you come across an interesting set of screencaps or something? I might be more enticed to watch the show before I was enticed to make icons, but depends on what caught your eye. ;-)

I'm more up for BSG than DW. I blow hot and cold on DW now - I really think Donna could be great, but it's just beginning to hit me that I have given up on liking Ten. I know, it seems odd considering how long I haven't liked him, but I didn't actually give up on being won over until Utopia, and that's not all that long ago!

I've just been coming across lots of Supernatural icons, and I've worked with a few, and it's kinda fun to icon. I've just never watched the show! Except for one episode.

And I'm kinda wondering why I haven't watched the show by now.

Yes, I'm very much looking forward to BSG. And I know what you mean about Ten. Just when I thought S3 was working, I was liking him and then *bam*, nope, just a phase.

I was kind of guilted into watching Supernatural in the first season because all my friends were so into it, even though I found it...meh. As we all know, I have problems when actors can't act, and both leads are pretty bad (the dad is quite good). I gave up in the first episode of the second season when I checked my watch, thinking it must be nearly over - and found that it had only been 8 minutes!

With S4, I have more of the "it's going to be a trainwreck and I can't quite tear my eyes away" reaction. Sometimes the show is good despite Ten being a complete ass, but I find I like it better when someone gets one over on the "hero", which probably isn't the most positive way to be watching any show.

I hope BSG manages to pull everything together and have a great final season. I think they wandered last series, but perhaps with an end in sight, they can make a concerted drive to the end.

There's a good example of a show I love but do not feel at all compelled to be fannish about.

I watched one, early, episode of Supernatural because an actress I liked was in it, and I quite liked it! And I'm interested in the show in general. The fact that I'm still trying to think about watching it should be telling me something...

Right now, personally, one of the only things I'm interested in seeing with S4 is how Martha comes back and how that's treated. I grew unreasonably attached to her and I was very much caught off-guard with her leaving, even if it did make sense. I want to see how she's doing.

(Because at the rate I'm going, I'll be seeing her first return episode on DW before her episodes of Torchwood, heh)

I think BSG will be good again. They had that structure and steady pace for S1 because they had a plan the whole time, they let things get away from them in S2 and S3, but with an end in sight, I think they can tell a proper story and make it cohesive and tight again.

Hopefully. *crosses fingers*

A lot of people whose opinions I respect really liked it. There were things about it I did like.

On DW, I'm more interested in all of the companions. I want Martha to come back strong and kickass and all "what was I thinking." I'd like Jack and Rose and Donna to individually and as a group kick Ten into shape and not let him off the hook.

Obviously, I am living in some fantasy land, but I like it here. I'm sure I'll be dragged kicking and screaming into reality soon enough. The premiere is only a couple of weeks away.

The only thing there that might, and I stress might happen, is Martha being kickass. Or at least confident in herself, and maybe even thinking what you think.

*sighs* I think I've given this show too many chances.

Oops, I left an important part out of my previous post. What I meant to say was that I was interested in all of the companions more than the lead character.

I think I'm slightly more interested in Donna, simply because I saw Martha on TW and she was good; but I'm more interested in both of them than in Jack and Rose - I really wish they'd leave them alone, and am holding out hope that it's all a fantasy of some sort rather than the real thing, because that can only suck.

All I can think with that?

I want my Doctor back! *stomps foot like a petulant child*

I'm semi-excited about Donna (and Martha, and maybe a certain ex-companion, if they manage to make me love her again), but I'm still not very excited about Season 4 in general, and that makes me sad. I also haven't watched the Christmas episode, and frankly, I don't think I ever will.

I think the only thing that could get me excited again about the show is if they announced DT was leaving, for good, and they were looking for a new Doctor. I feel a little bad for saying that, 'cause DT truly seems like an adorable person in real life, but it still very true. I don't think I can take much more of Ten's screeching/grimacing/bulging eyes/over the top-ness/God complex taken way too literally (*shudders at the memory*). My patience - and sanity - has its limits :(

It makes me sad too! I want to be excited, so much to be excited about and it's just..not.

Sadly, I have to say YES. I feel exactly the same way.

I would love to second that entire sentiment. Sometimes I think David Tennant is better suited to being the host of a children's show, and I can sort of see how that would translate into being the Doctor - but then, even before we get to the offensive God complex*, the stories ask him to perform at a realistic, deeply felt level he sadly doesn't have. (I know sometimes people see it, but I think it's more that it's written in and so they believe it...)

*I'm not offended in a religious sense, it just seems like lazy and irresponsible plotting, and brings out character traits that I don't respond to well. One of my favourite moments of S1 was the Ninth Doctor proclaiming he would make a very bad God.

LOL. I'm quite excited for the new season of Doctor Who, but I don't know how to convey that to you :D Maybe when the first episode will air, the squee will be back. Or maybe it just means that your time with Doctor Who is done :(

What show do you want to icon?

Maybe everyone else's excitement will rub off on me? I can only hope! 'Cause I really don't want my time to be over with DW. Perhaps that's why I'm holding on.

I want to icon Supernatural. Seen lots of icons that are so pretty and iconned the show for requests. And I want to icon it more and I haven't seen but one episode!

Maybe it will, or maybe it will do the contrary. I know that some people's excitement makes me even less excited.

When is the season starting anyway?

I think the season starts April 5th.
