Doctor Who
Apr. 20th, 2008 04:10 pmSo, this morning, I watched "Gridlock" and "Last of the Timelords" (yeah, I'm doing so well with S4, heh).
Anyway, WHY ISN'T THERE MORE LOVE FOR "GRIDLOCK"? Is this my S3 "The Long Game"? I really forgot how much I love that episode. It's great.
And I honestly would have loved to forget how much of a mess LotTL was. I mean, some amazing parts, but overall? Messy.
Sorry, I wanted to add something here, that it makes me irrationally mad at the end with the Doctor wailing over the Master. While it feels harsh to condone his murder, I don't see how anyone could look at the Doctor the same for mourning over a person that was presented to us as a monster. If I liked Ten, he definitely would have lost a hell of a lot of shine in that moment.
*wonders* Maybe I can stretch that that was the real reason Martha left! heh, Don't mind me :)
I'm serious about the rest though.
But OH if I just don't love Martha more. I love when she says goodbye, because it's just...I've gone on about it before, but it's just perfect to me. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MY MARTHA ON DW AGAIN.
And heh, my dad caught the very last bit of LotTL and thought that Martha/Freema was adorable, he was like "She's gorgeous", and it cracked me up because he honestly just went on about it and I had to stop myself from telling him to shut up.
Overall, my dad really doesn't like DW though, I believe he finds it more ridiculous than the Stargate series. Which is interesting, he LOVES the Stargate series.
I WILL be watching the latest episodes of Doctor Who, I promise, I have them ready to watch.

Date: 2008-04-21 06:07 pm (UTC)I actually rather liked 'Last of the Time Lords' too. The Doctor's agonising over the Master made a lot of sense from the "we're the only ones left" perspective, and even in the old series he had a soft spot for him. (Maybe he really was the Doctor's brother.)
