First off, any/everyone the in Southern California/L.A. area, you all alright?

Really, I came to post that I finished my re-watch of Firefly. Man, how did I forget my utter love for that show?!

Although, I could totally deal with "Heart of Gold" just disappearing. Dreadful episode, just completely...And it totally emphasizes the problems with Inara's profession.

Anyway, I'm totally looking for that on DVD, cheaper than $40, hopefully.

And on another note, has anyone ever read The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman? (It's a short story, 6,000 words I believe)

I remember when I read it in high school, it creeped me the hell out and I couldn't decided then if I liked it because it was so intriguing or if I hated it because it messed with my head!

Although, nothing will match my hatred for Lord of the Flies, so maybe I never hated it.

I haven't gotten the guts to re-read it just yet, but I will!

I'm now off to watch the 2006 version of Jane Eyre, and the 2008(?) version of Sense and Sensibility. They are good, yes? And BBC, I believe. So, that's something to look forward to. And to delay going back to my The Office DVDs, heh.

Hey, anyone know if there's been a more recent version of Emma out?

I want to read The Yellow Wallpaper but I've been struggling to work up the courage. It sounds like something that will stick with you in terms of psychological...

The 2006 Jane Eyre is gorgeous. I cried.

All I can say about "The Yellow Wallpaper" is that it's stuck with me for the past 4 years and it's not something I'll forget, it's definitely something that has the potential to stick with you.

And it's funny you say that because I've been working up the nerve to watch Jane Eyre!

FIREFLY LOOOOVE! And yes, Heart of Gold needs to go away. Right now. That's by far my least favourite ep. But ZOMG FIREFLY!!! lol

I have this unnatural love for The Yellow Wallpaper. I had to read it for our "feminist lit" time in AP Eng last year & I loved it.

FIREFLY, I KNOW. When I do get DVDs, I might have to try and convince people to watch with SCREENCAPS. Yeah, Heart of Gold should not have existed. BUT FIREFLY.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'd love Yellow Wallpaper if I re-read it. It's getting to the nerve to re-read it that might trick me, heh! Such a coward.

Jane Eyre! That version is very good. :)

I don't think there have been any other versions of Emma since the 1996 ones.

I'm now off to watch the 2006 version of Jane Eyre, and the 2008(?) version of Sense and Sensibility. They are good, yes? Yes! Especially Sense and Sensibility. Which I missed the last part of and was /extremely/ disappointed (somehow I managed to miss seeing it on bbci as well :S).

The Jane Eyre version was quite good. Considering I don't like the book, it was quite an accomplishment to make me sit through the six hours something!

DUDE, I REMEMBER YOU RECOMMENDED IT! Heh, and it's the same for me. Sense and Sensibility was okay, enjoyable, but I didn't try to watch it all in one night like I did with Jane Eyre, heh.

Must find icons...

Yeah, I finished the rest in the morning, just got too tired!

I think what really drew me in with Jane Eyre was that we really saw it happening, we didn't see a lot of that with S&S, imo, it felt like. I'm totally with you on what you're saying :D

I'm totally NOT looking for good caps right now...*shifty eyes*
