Jul. 29th, 2008 07:35 pmFirst off, any/everyone the in Southern California/L.A. area, you all alright?
Really, I came to post that I finished my re-watch of Firefly. Man, how did I forget my utter love for that show?!
Although, I could totally deal with "Heart of Gold" just disappearing. Dreadful episode, just completely...And it totally emphasizes the problems with Inara's profession.
Anyway, I'm totally looking for that on DVD, cheaper than $40, hopefully.
And on another note, has anyone ever read The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman? (It's a short story, 6,000 words I believe)
I remember when I read it in high school, it creeped me the hell out and I couldn't decided then if I liked it because it was so intriguing or if I hated it because it messed with my head!
Although, nothing will match my hatred for Lord of the Flies, so maybe I never hated it.
I haven't gotten the guts to re-read it just yet, but I will!
I'm now off to watch the 2006 version of Jane Eyre, and the 2008(?) version of Sense and Sensibility. They are good, yes? And BBC, I believe. So, that's something to look forward to. And to delay going back to my The Office DVDs, heh.
Hey, anyone know if there's been a more recent version of Emma out?

Date: 2008-07-30 02:25 am (UTC)I have this unnatural love for The Yellow Wallpaper. I had to read it for our "feminist lit" time in AP Eng last year & I loved it.

Date: 2008-08-02 03:58 pm (UTC)I think what really drew me in with Jane Eyre was that we really saw it happening, we didn't see a lot of that with S&S, imo, it felt like. I'm totally with you on what you're saying :D
I'm totally NOT looking for good caps right now...*shifty eyes*
