Yay, I finished Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility. I have to say I loved Jane Eyre more. S&S was enjoyable, but like I told [livejournal.com profile] quiet_fractures, I didn't try to watch it all in one night like I did with Jane Eyre.

So, yeah, that was really good. :D

I also watched Snow White: A Tale of Terror, which I saw someone on LJ pimp and do a picspam of and I thought it looked interesting.

SO COULD HAVE USED A BETTER WARNING. I knew it'd be dark and grim, but fucking hell, that was...I honestly thought it'd turn out to be a better tale than the one that everyone is mostly familiar with, but I can't tell if it was.

Sigourney Weaver was amazing though. Amazingly terrifying, but amazing acting is what I mean.

And to help settle my mind after that...a meme :D

Pick a fandom of mine, and I'll tell you....

This might actually be a bit difficult...

One True Pairing Ship: I don't really do "OTPs" but I really ship John and Elizabeth
Canon Ship: Is there one?
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: John/Teyla
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: Yikes, um...no idea
"I dabble a little" Ship: Teyla/Ronon
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Teyla/Carson (??) - I guess 'cause he's dead (or is he, what the fuck is going on with him?)
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Elizabeth/Rodney
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: Elizabeth/Ronon (heh)
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: John/Rodney
"When all is said and done" Ship: John/Elizabeth

I saw bits of Snow White: A Tale of Terror years ago but for some reason I never watched the whole thing despite my obsession for fairy tales and dark and scary stuff. I need to sit down with it properly from start to finish.

I wasn't sure if anyone of teh f-list knew of it. Good to know I wasn't. Although, on reflection, I think I can say that I didn't exactly love it. I do enjoy some of the dark stuff, but I'm not so good on the horror side of things :D

I don't know if I'd recommend watching again to find out if you did! heh

Oh boy...

One True Pairing Ship: Um...again, I don't do OTPs, really, but Gwen/Rhys
Canon Ship: GWEN/RHYS, sorry, I hate that I adore them so
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship: I'm not the fondest of Jack/Gwen - just because I do adore Gwen/Rhys so
"You are one sick bastard" Ship: Tosh/dead-ish!Owen
"I dabble a little" Ship: Tosh/Jack
"It's like a car crash" Ship: Tosh/Owen
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship: Jack/Martha
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship: Gwen/Ianto
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship: JACK/IANTO
"When all is said and done" Ship: Yeah, Tosh/Owen

I don't know, I think those fit...:D

Both adaptations were much more recent, Jane Eyre was the 2006 BBC one and S&S was the BBC 2008 version.

I believe I've seen the one with Alan Rickman, but it was a long time ago!

I'd definitely be happy to see other versions of Jane Eyre, but the one I watched, I thoroughly enjoyed. A bit sexualized in places but quite of few of these newer BBC versions tend to be.

Heh, yeah, I'm really interested in other versions and when bored enough will probably be seeking them out :D

I assume you mean the one with Colin Firth because I ABSOLUTELY have. Not even humoring you, I watched it a couple months ago and adored it so.

Yes, it pretty much put the 2005 movie to shame. OH YOUR ICON. I think I must re-watch something...at least the last part/episode. Yes, that would be good.

Hey, have you ever seen North and South (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417349/)?

Heh, aw, I probably shouldn't have brought it up :D Although, one of the stations was playing it non-stop and it DROVE ME BONKERS.

It's wonderful. As a terrible person, I haven't really read a lot of these books.

OH, it's not about the Civil War, I'm sorry. It's British-based. Here: North and South (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_and_South_%282004_mini-series%29). That talks about the mini-series, with a link to read more about the book.

Which versions of JE and S&S did you watch? My fave of JE is the BBC series with Timothy Dalton and some wonderful theatre actress. S&S fave is the one that Emma Thompson wrote the screenplay for and starred in. I did see the first half of the new BBC production, and found it interesting, but forgot to watch the second half.

I watched the, I believe, the most recent versions of both. The 2006 of Jane Eyre and the 2008 of S&S. I haven't actually seen any other, a bit of the mid 90's movie of Jane Eyre and I probably saw the Emma Thompson one a long time ago.
