No, this time it's about Tropical Storm Fay who is moving it's way up my state.

It's not even categorized as a hurricane yet, so I'm not completely worried about where we live, but still, we are practically on a river so the chance of flooding is there.

My county has a hurricane warning and we're definitely gonna get hit, so I'm a little worried about damage. But we survived stronger (and actual) hurricanes when I lived on a island. So, as long as I don't watch the news constantly, they'll be no panicking!

We're only getting strong winds right now with some sprinkle. So I'm able to amuse myself with how funny it is that the TS is named Fay.

I hope we don't either! 22 years and we haven't had to really, it'll actually be a new experience if we do.

Good luck! I think you're right about not overdosing on the news — they want you to be scared enough to watch them constantly and feed their advertisers! When dangerous weather heads my way, I keep track online and have a battery-operated radio. Also, I figure my cats will start to freak if things get seriously dangerous. None of them are generally afraid of thunderstorms!

Thanks :D Yeah that was always something I hated about news reports on the weather. I find it easier, as well, to keep track on-line, like you. And I got a new radio, so that'll work for me too!

Are y'all still alive and above water? From what I can gather, it's mostly bad, bad rain, but there don't seem to be a lot of details on the news.

That's the oddest part, where I live, we really haven't gotten anything, she went way farther east than originally thought. We got a little rain, and we've got some steady wind, but really, nothing like south FL. But Fay isn't really set to leave Florida alone, so we might get some real weather by the end of the week.

Yeah, I heard it was swinging around to take another bash. Hopefully everyone will just get wet and nothing worse than that!
