I don't know what happened, I've been really distracted. I actually missed the real last day for this meme. Blergh.

Anyway, here's Part 1 of the last ten days of the meme.

Day 21 - Favorite ship

Boy, there's quite a few to name here. I have Jim/Pam, Nine/Rose and John/Elizabeth listed in my profile. And I will always love them. I think I want to add a couple to that though. About a year or two ago, I started watching Frasier on Lifetime in the mornings and really got into it. And I really really adore Niles/Daphne. The scene here is one that really got me and I love watching that episode whenever it comes on.

Day 22 - Favorite series finale

Soft spot in my heart for all the series in the '90s that went out. I remember I used to watch The Nanny with my mom and Dr. Quinn.

But more recently, and I think this might put me in the minority, but I really loved the ending to Angel. *shrugs* It worked for me, I was crying a little and my jaw might have dropped a bit, but it went over well for me. I didn't feel at all disappointed. Well, disappointed that it was canceled, of course!

I also loved the Buffy finale. That one felt right to me as well.

And while I'm not as overall fond of the Lost finale as those others, the last few moments were just right. I was totally crying when it ended on Jack.

Day 23 - Most annoying character

The first character to literally pop up in my head is Rodney McKay from SGA. I never warmed to him like others did, I can't think of too many episodes that I haven't wanted to smack him upside the head at least once.

And Lois from Smallville. I know I have some on my f-list that like her, and I kind of liked her in S4, and honestly? Never got better for me, I personally have been annoyed with her since S5, and it just got worse.

Day 24 - Best quote

Sorry, I have to fall back on my DW quotes on this one! Mostly because there are so many awesome quotes from so many shows. I told you that if I named DW as my fave show, I'd be relying on it!

So, here's three, I'm adding Tosh from Torchwood:

The Ninth Doctor: "Do you know like we were sayin'? About the Earth revolving? It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the world's turning and you just can't quite believe it 'cause everything looks like it's standin' still. I can feel it. The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinnin' at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're fallin' through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go...That's who I am."

Martha Jones: "‘Cause the thing is, it's like my friend Vicky, she lived with this bloke, student housing, there were five of them, all packed in, and this bloke was called Sean. And she loved him, she did. She completely adored him. Spent all day long talking about him."

"‘Cause he never looked at her twice. I mean, he liked her, but that was it. And she wasted years pining after him, years of her life, ‘cause while he was around, she never looked at anyone else. And I told her, I always said to her, time and time again, I said: Get out. So this is me, getting out"

Toshiko Sato: "Okay. So, if you're seeing this, I guess it means I'm, well, dead. Hope it was impressive! Not crossing the road or an 'incident' with a toaster. I just wanted to say, it's okay, it really is. Jack, you saved me. You showed me all the wonders of the universe and all those possibilities. And I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Thank you. And Owen. You never knew. I love you. All of you. And.... I hope I did good."

Also, that's what she said. And, check out this picspam for quotes from some of my favorite characters, there are also some of my favorite quotes, and not just from DW or TW.

Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)

Didn't I saw I'd watch Being Human? I have to still do that. Also, I think I've been trying to watch The West Wing. That's just a lot more to undertake than Being Human!

Okay, the last five later today :D

*sniffs* at the Tosh quote.

And ITA with you regarding Lois. I originally liked her fine in her original four episodes, but then when she came back and hung around as the bumbling comic relief I really didn't care for how they wrote her. I did start liking her somewhat in season 8 once she got into the DP and started feeling less like a spare part, but I still find her quite grating when I go back and watch the earlier seasons

What always chokes me up the most about that Tosh quite is when she says "I hope I did good", there was always something about that that just made me cry so hard.

I just never liked what they did with Lois and I had trouble dealing with her attitude a lot of the time.

Yeah, I found her very abrasive and didn't really get into all the "cute" winks to the comics with her calling Clark "Smallville" etc. A lot of what they wanted to do with Lois did make more sense once she actually was a reporter at the DP and showing Clark the ropes, but when she was just squatting at Clark's house and caling his dog "Clarkie", well she was like nails on a chalkboard to me most of the time

I don't know if it puts me in the minority, but I will always hate how she got onto the DP. HATE. They needed to take more time with that.

I had a big problem with that too, especially when you compare it to how epic they made Chloe's entrance in Thirst. I will never understand some of the choices they made with Lois's character. But then fandom seemed happy to handwave so much away with Lois (Of course she got begging letters from The Inquisitor based on one article. Of course she got offered a job at the DP by talking loudly about spaceships. She's LOIS LANE. Of course she's Clark's sole link to humanity. Of course the two of them just wake up one day in love with one another. It's ICONIC). I think in the end all of that really hurt her character

Pretty much. Not showing us a damn thing and telling us one thing this episode and another the next hurt her character in my eyes.

I think if the outcome were the same but the journey to now different, I'd feel differently. If they handled a lot of things differently, I'd feel better though!

IA, I would have liked her ten times as much in season 8 if she were introduced as a new character, or even if it was her first appearance since leaving for college in Devoted

But the "journey" was such an utter mess that part of me can never bring myself to ever fully embrace her character and forget how she was in seasons 4-7. Especially when they're still taking the same lazy shortcuts
