Help please!
Jul. 23rd, 2006 12:03 pmI am in an icon making mood. I just finished a set, I'll post them tomorrow, from Doctor Who's "Father's Day", which is my favorite episode to icon, and now I'm woefully out of ideas.
GIVE ME IDEAS PLEASE! Could be Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, a movie, Wonderfalls, hell, maybe even some more Lost and Veronica Mars.
I'd prefer Doctor Who, just for the fact that I can make my own screen caps and I have a quota of Rose icons to fulfill, and I'd not getting there.
So, if you give me a show, please give me an episode, can be anything, I just need a little nudge towards an episode.
THANK YOU!!
OH! Have I said how much I love Christopher Eccleston? That's a bit redundant. Because I think I've changed my mind, my favorite episode of his, after "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" is "Father's Day". I love him in that episode, even if the Doctor did screw up, along with Rose. In the scene where he's talking to the couple and tells them that's a life he's never had, I think I really wanted to just give him a huge bear hug. BUT, that green sweater (jumper for those non-Americans) wasn't that pretty on him, I liked the blue one he wore in "Aliens of London". And one of my favorite pictures of him, here. Date: 2006-07-23 07:52 pm (UTC)As for Rose, I've never seen any of her from that scene talking to Nancy while fixing the barbed wire, which is a great scene. And you could do some baby Rose icons to fill your quota ;-).
I agree with you about the green sweater except that it's a "life" colour, and the two key emotional episodes (Dalek, Father's Day) have him in green, and I rather like that. Also appropriate that he wears black in BW/POTW, and that he and Rose are both wearing burgundy/maroon in the first two episodes.
However, also agreed, the blue looks the best, because, really, brown hair+fair skin+grey/blue eyes=looks great in blue. Come to think of it, I think he wears blue throughout Second Coming... Though comparing rehearsal photos from AoL and the scene where he takes off the jacket in FD, he definitely looks thinner and paler in FD, which means the green jumper makes him look a little sallow and way too skinny.

Date: 2006-07-23 08:02 pm (UTC)I thought that scene with Nine and the cat was adorable. I think I'm going to actually to write a post about my favorite scenes of his from each episode. That'll be fun!
Since I have FD capped, I can do some of baby!Rose. I was tempted to do one anyway, so now I will.
My only problem with the green sweater is that it's ill-fitting, and like you said, the green does make him look a little pale.

CE has done way too many cute scenes with cats in his career. He has to be a cat person.
My only problem with the green sweater is that it's ill-fitting,
Since we know he was ill by that time, it could well be that it fit during pre-production, but was too big by the time they got to shoot. For all of his big, strong facial features, he's pretty narrow in the shoulders and chest, which doesn't help matters for him looking too skinny.

Date: 2006-07-23 08:58 pm (UTC)I love how he's all "I don't do domestic" and then he turns around and BAM! He's doing domestic without thought. In "Aliens of London", I really like how he's not annoyed at the kid for being there, he's annoyed that he changed the channel, he even pulls the kid up on his lap at one point! And then in "Father's Day", like you said, he's looking at the baby, even when talking to Rose, he turns back to the baby at one point, and then "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances", he seems so wonderful with children. And cats.
My love for CE and the 9th Doctor will never stop growing. :)
