Doctor Who Confidential
Jul. 30th, 2006 07:08 pmI'm so behind on the times
So, a little while ago, I heard some people gushing over the confidential that accompanied the series one episode, "The Long Game" on Doctor Who.
So I just today watched it, and it really is the cutest thing. And what's the best part? Immediately when the credits start rolling, you can see through the camera on the side that Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper are dancing together. I thought it was the cutest thing, so I did this:

Obviously practicing, right?
And I was probably stupid for doing it, because there are better ways of doing it, but I had to! It's in black and white because I had to do something about the size, and yet it's still massive. I might be persuaded it make it smaller, but either way, it's still hard to make out.

My love for this show, shows no bounds. Enjoy! I hope to have more icons to post soon, it'll probably be more Nine icons, from "Dalek" because I'm itching to cap and icon that episode.
And then "Fear Her" because I can never icon that episode enough, some may not have liked the ep, but it's fun to cap and stuff.
Anyway, I'm still taking requests/suggestions for icons, why I don't know since I'm not getting anyway, lol.

Date: 2006-07-31 04:21 am (UTC)Have you noticed at the end of the Confidential for The End of the World? He's juggling with the spider eggs, as if he's teaching her, and she comes around and puts her arms around his waist and lays her head on his shoulder as if she's really tired and just wants a cuddle. All together now: "Awwwwwwww!"
::chuckle::

Date: 2006-07-31 05:45 pm (UTC)I think it's funny/ironic/adorable that he has this very fierce image, yet so much of what you get about him from the people around him is that he's goofy and funny and thoughtful. On the commentary of Second Coming, RTD did talk about this - said he was such great fun and a laugh to have around, that CE knew that he had this ol' miseryguts image, but it was the roles he chose and his "big ears".
And everybody's gushing over DT and BP getting on well offscreen! Ha.
I wonder if that was put out there in part to build up the whole new Doctor thing - and then the DT/Ten fans create a bigger echo chamber. I read somewhere where BP was comparing working with the two and DT would goof around with her if they were waiting between set-ups, but CE would go back to his trailer and work - I'm sure a lot of people will interpret that as being less "fun", but she says it in the context of admiring his intensity and dedication. But obviously, they still had a great deal of fun on set.

I agree. That's why I'd like to think/hope that it was their dancing that gave the idea for the metaphor.

But I think for all the Confidentials, I love watching his littel interviews when he's in his trailer (I think). He just seems quiet, and like you pointed out, thoughtful.
But obviously, they still had a great deal of fun on set.
It comes across a great deal, it's so lovely.

Date: 2006-07-31 06:29 pm (UTC)I liked those, too, the little touches like being pleased that the Doctor created a sonic screwdriver instead of a gun or a bomb, or playfully grumbling about the bloody London bus getting into his shot... Although there's one where he's scratching his arms where you just want to scream "stop!" and put him in mittens.
He does seem rather shy and introverted, but then can get very passionate about things. I can relate!

Date: 2006-08-01 12:34 am (UTC)That was funny, I had a good laugh at that. He just comes across so well on the Confidentials, and when you see him behind-the-scenes, it's hard to believe that he can be this incredibly intimidating man on-screen.

Date: 2006-08-01 09:11 pm (UTC)"The End of the World", correct? Yeah, that's one to see the end of. And I actually quite like the first part of Aliens of London, yeah in whole the two-parter could have been loads better, and they can go without seeing, but the first part of AoL is enjoyable. If I ever learn to upload episodes, I might be tempted to do just that. It'll be my next project.

Date: 2006-08-01 10:10 pm (UTC)Speaking of 5th Doctor, I still have to finish Mawdryn Undead. The first episodes with Turlough.
no subject
Date: 2006-08-01 10:20 pm (UTC)because they're the first ones with Turlough in. Mawdryn is rather good, but i like the last one, Enlightenment, best (although i'm only half way through it) =DThe 10th doctor should get a male companion, who's not stupid or annoying like Mickey(before he got all confident) or Adam

Date: 2006-08-01 10:28 pm (UTC)Yeah, they need more good male companions on the new series. Jack would be nice to have back.
