I'm glad you like it, the creator did a wonderful job, and takes requests, which is how I got this, and I just requested yesterday! It's on a different site, like space_graphics or something, it's on my userinfo page.
I have such serious love for "The Unquiet Dead", I had to request this layout.
On a side note: my icon in this post-- is it one of yours?
And tell it like you still believe That the end of the century Brings a change for you and me Nothing unusual, nothing's changed Just a little older that's all You know when you've found it, There's something I've learned 'Cause you feel it when they take it away
Something unusual, something strange Comes from nothing at all
It's really beautiful - nice and clean, but distinctive and easy on the eye. The only drawback I see is that the text space is so narrow, it's going to be easy to run into really skinny comments if, say, someone were to engage you in a long dialogue. Not that I know anyone who does that or anything...

Oh I know, but I don't know how to fix that. Any ideas?

Does that happen? Gee...I don't really know what you could be talking about. ;-)
OMG, I forgot about the Dalek post. Damn. Must get on that tonight. Hopefully to post tomorrow. *prays that she remembers*

I know nothin' 'bout LJ layout, but I do know from ye olde days of HTML1, PostScript programming, and even ancient LinoType machines from the (gasp!) 1980s, that there's usually a set- width command for text blocks. I would suspect there's something like that, somewhere, that could be tweaked. Are you planning to use the empty blocks to the right of the main text body? Because it looks like it's a 1+2+1 proportion that could be shifted to 1+3 and still look fine.
Does that happen?
You know, you never know. It could happen.

This is really the best I can fix my journal without it all going to hell. It looks loads better and will hopefully help with all those future long discussions that I look forward to.
I'll just stick to the instructions I was given when the person who made the layout made it.
Oh, how lovely! I love how Rose looks in that episode. And I love how they're looking at each other in the caps in your header. And I like "Amie" too :)
I have an unnatural love for that episode, and when I saw mercscilla was taking requests, this came straight to mind, along with the song. Just wanted everyone to see the beauty!
Unnatural, ha ha! (With the.. walking corpses and stuff.. oh, bad joke.) But yeah, I love that episode, too. And I love that they have Charles Dickens in that episode. I don't know mercscilla but I'm impressed how everything meshes with that magical wintertime feeling.
I stumbled acrossed her icons, which are beautiful, and then her graphics journal and saw the headers and everything she makes and that she takes requests, and I believe still does, since I made the request yesterday! I love what she did.
Unnatural, ha ha! (With the.. walking corpses and stuff.. oh, bad joke.)
Oh, but good job picking up on that! I didn't even notice the pun. lol

Date: 2006-08-10 10:42 pm (UTC)It's lyrics from Damien Rice's song "Amie":
And tell it like you still believe
That the end of the century
Brings a change for you and me
Nothing unusual, nothing's changed
Just a little older that's all
You know when you've found it,
There's something I've learned
'Cause you feel it when they take it away
Something unusual, something strange
Comes from nothing at all
