This movie contains two of my old loves, Cary Grant and Tony Curtis and involves a pink submarine.  So I have to share these with you all.

A little about the movie, Operation Petticoat:
Cary plays a Commander who has to put a broken submarine back  into commission and Tony plays an officer that can help, in a very unconventional way (illegal means).  Add in five nurses they rescue, and well, one can only imagine.

1016 caps, split into two files.  Images unaltered.

Enjoy!

X-Men will be next.

Isn't it? The best part is that they painted it while it was in the water, so when you see shots of it underwater, it's only half pink and half gray. I love that movie.

I love that you love classic movies. I have a thing for Cary Grant and my favorite is 'The Philadelphia Story'. I think you would love it.

I have a weakness for The Thin Man series as well!

Lovely caps!

I just love Cary Grant, I blame it on my mother. Oh, goodness, I don't think I've seen The Philadelphia Story, heard of it though, I think.

Glad you like the caps!

This is one of my favourite wet-Saturday-afternoon films. I love befuddled Cary Grant, he's so good at it. And Tony Curtis was such good-looking guy, it funny he made such an unattractive woman in Some Like It Hot! (Then again, who would think that David Duchovny would be prettier as Denise than Dennis?)

BTW, have you seen this (http://nina-ds.livejournal.com/25551.html)? If so, never mind!

Something scary about Tony Curtis in Some Like It Hot is the strange flash of Jamie Leigh I got ever so often while watching him in drag.

Jamie Lee Curtis is one of the few children of anyone (let alone celebrities) where you can really see both parents. On the opposite end of the spectrum are Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen, both of whom look very much like their father, but who don't look particularly like each other! (And Ramon and Renée don't look like they belong in the same family.) Or have you seen The Invisible Circus? Blythe Danner as Cameron Diaz's mother? Absolutely. Jordana Brewster in the same gene pool? You must be kidding - although that slightly desquicks her whole sleeping-with-Wolf thing...

A movie that has two of my loves in it? How could I not love it, and I agree, Tony really was this great looking guy, it was the eyes.

I love Some Like It Hot!, I'm looking into buying it.

Just saw it now and loved it ;)

Tony Curtis had beautiful eyes. I admit being partial to dark/black hair with light green or blue eyes, particularly if the skintone is also mid-to-dark. (Dylan McDermott, David Marciano, Gary Dourdan, Thandie Newton, Martin Landau).

There is a no-frills version of Some Like It Hot that I sometimes see in bargain bins for $4-5, although even the bells-and-whistles version can be had for under $20.

I always fall for the dark hair/light eyes combo. Every time.

5 dolla no holla. I like cheap DVDs.

You know, one way of (in the long run) getting a great run of cheap classic films *if* you have TCM and/or FMC: a DVD recorder (the Presidian brand is very good and usually less than $100 at Radio Shack) and a stack of DVDRs. Since many classics don't come with extras anyway, you can record tons of great movies at DVD quality without commercials.
