Okay, I have never written a review for BSG, but after everything that I have seen written about his episode, I have to.  So, it's cut for spoilers.  Excuse the language.

I'll just go in order.

First of all, Dee was right for saying no to Billy.  She would be a horrible person if she said yes, but she rightfully said no.  And then people complain that she didn't tell him about Lee.  Well DUH!  Are you going to tell someone that you just told "I can't marry you" that you want to bone someone else?  No.

And the "date".  Yes, I will be refering it as that.  I didn't see it as a date.  Because you don't tell your date about being proposed to, and she seemed very ashamed and sad about it because she knew she hurt Billy, and I don't think she wanted to.  And then Lee was like, "Maybe you wanted to say yes"  or whatever.  EXCUSE ME?  You don't say that to a date.  They are attracted to each other, I assume they are friends and they want to explore what's between them.  I admit, I like what they are doing now with the story between them, but it does seem out of nowhere.  I just, argh, I'm done talking about that.  NO MORE LEE/DUALLA DISCUSSION FROM ME!

Now, I'm very confused.  What the fuck did Adama ask for Starbuck when he knew Lee was also on Cloud Nine?  I just don't want to know.

Anyway, Kara made a mistake.  She should not have been the one to volunteer to go into that room.  She should have known that there were too many people in there that would recognize her and she should have known.

SO GLAD SHE WAS NOT DRUNK when she shot Lee.  But there is no doubt as to who shot Lee.  She was the only who fired her weapon when he was shot.  And where the hell was Lee going?  Doesn't he know that being a hero gets you shot or killed?  Because I think that's what he was doing, going for a gun on one of the fallen marines or someone.  But ouch, Lee's down and Kara knows it's her fault.  No, fault seems too harsh.  I don't know.

I don't want to analyze anything that Dee and Billy did.

The most important thing to me in this episode was Adama's reaction to Lee being shot.  When he knew it was Kara, his reaction wasn't angry.  It was to keep her out of the fight, and I think that was a whole lot of punishment enough for her.  She needed to go back in there, for Lee and to right her wrong.  But Adama said no.

And the sheer anxiety when Adama went into that room.  The hurriedness to find Lee.  It was amazing.  I was like, OMG FIND YOUR SON!  And the pleading with Lee and taking his hand.  God, I was ready to cry when I saw Lee grip his hand in return.  So awesome.

And I am in love with MM.  She was heartbreaking at the end with Billy.  The little nuances and movements were just agony to watch.  Good job.

That's all I wanted to say.  Okay, let me add something.  Do not hate Dee.  Almost every interaction between Lee and Dualla has been cut, so we don't know how close they really are.  And excuse me, someone explain to me how the fuck Dee is a slut or whore?  And they get angry when Kara is called a slut or whore?  I understand, people care more about Kara and want to cut her more slack, but I'm a little angry with her right now and I won't force my problems on you all.

Circumstances are different, yes.  But for all the stuff that was cut out, we can say it's canon that Lee and Dualla didn't start to date until AFTER Dee broke up with Billy.  Yes, they broke up.  Read [livejournal.com profile] queenofthorns's[Bad username or unknown identity:  post about the episode.  So, should Dee be punished for liking a guy?  I don't know.  ]

[Bad username or unknown identity: People can think how they want, but give some real reasons as to why Dee is a slut.]

I'm late in the game to be commenting, but you can just ignore me if you choose to.

* Please feel free to discuss Lee/Dualla if you feel like it. Plenty of people are just fine with this pairing, including many who would also be fine with a Lee/Kara pairing. Insanity isn't global. Dee isn't perfect, but so what? Nobody on BSG is perfect. Dee has every reason to pursue her heart and if that isn't with Billy, then she needs to move on. Lee too has every reason to pursue a little happiness, and Kara has made it quite clear that he won't find it with her now. I liked Dee before. I still like her now. Who knows how long it will last between Lee and Dee but for now they make a very nice (and very beautiful) couple.

* If RDM had a little more air time for this episode, Kara would have been drunk (or at least still slightly under the influence) when she shot Lee. It was filmed that way, but had to be edited out to make room for commercials. RMD (podcast) was very disappointed that it couldn't be included. Still, knowing that Kara was on Cloud Nine for R&R, knowing her personality, and knowing that she still has a penchant for drinking, it really doesn't take much a leap in logic to conclude that Kara's judgement was flawed in more than ways than one when she decided to play hero instead of following orders.
