Just in case those on my flist haven't heard about the Christopher Eccleston casing news, check under the cut...

From a pretty reliable source, Ask Ausiello at TVGuide, we are told that CE will be on Heroes.  Mentioned January.

I'll tell you what, I'm seriously hoping it's true.  I like the show, not the best written, but it's fun to follow.  And the exposure that CE will get from it would be awesome.  He could finally be more well known to Americans.

For those that don't know what Heroes is, it's a new show on NBC about individuals finding they have special abilities, and someone else with special abilities are tracking them down and murdering them.

No word on who CE would be playing, but highly suspect that he would play someone with these special abilites.

I don't know to be truthful, I'm still trying to figure out if it's really going to be happening, it almost doesn't seem like a show that he'd come onto or that they'd approach him.

We all need new shows in our life! Because I'm not addicted to TV enough.

I've been hearing Heros mentioned alot on the U.S. side of my F-List so I'll probably check it out, reaurdless of the CE news, which is just a bonus :D, But from the way you just decribed it, It sounds like its Stolen a big element from 'The 4400' which I love.

Not at all actually, these people are born with the abilities, and it seems really original, even if some of the writing and acting is questionable. It's definitely worth checking out, regardless of CE.

Of course, finding out about CE is just going to make me obsessed with the show. I just have to have real solid proof, because I just can't trust the source it came from.

Well, as boji said up above, it's most likely he'll just be a guest, not actually joining the cast. That means he'd only be in a few episodes, anyway.

So am I! I have school on Monday nights so I've been missing Heroes, but I may have to start watching again. My dad promises he'll keep an eye out for me. I asked him if the character had been mentioned and he said no. Then I told him who might be playing him and he's all, "Oh, the Doctor! Yeah, I know what he looks like. I haven't seen him but I'll tell you when I do." That's my influence. :-P

Sylar is a horrible bad guy and I will cry if CE plays him. He'd play him well, but...I'd cry.

I haven't heard anything official, but on TWOP, there was a description of a new cast member joining in January who was "an intense and wise mentor" who "has a gruff exterior but we will grow to love him." Whatcha think?

Downside: his name's "Claude".

Yeah, my thought was, "Well, someone basically took the description of his performance as the Doctor and transplanted it to Heroes." There's no confirmation that he's the one cast, but since CE's supposed to start in January and Claude is supposed to be introduced in January, 2+2 does seem to equal 4.

But Claude? Hmmm. It's different. I'd prefer Simon - I don't know why that name popped into my head, but for some reason, it did. Just, please, not David. He's played too many Davids.

I think Joe would be better than Claude. And I'm still going crazy looking for confirmation of the info. As soon as I know he'll be on, I'll be happy.

I just read on the NBC website that Chris is supposed to play the serial killer, Sylar, starting in January 2007 in Heroes and I am so, so glad we in the US are going to get to see more of Chris!! He's also filming a movie in Louisana(US) called "New Orleans Mon Amor" to be released sometime in 2008. He plays a doctor and socialite with the last name of Jekyll and the woman who breaks up his marriage has the last name of Hyde. I can't wait for this one!

Aw, he's gonna play Sylar? I was hoping he'd be a good guy. But who cares? As a fellow American, I'm just happy we get him on our TV screens.

That movie sounds interesting.
