Well, if anything was to cheer me up today, that episode was it. Although, I still could have stand to see more of him!



Because I've seen some people pretty firm in believing Claire was 17 and now she's saying that she's almost 16. That leaves a weird feeling in my mouth.

Also? I want to know more about her mom.

But really? I could care less about anything about Peter and Claude. OMG, *loves on CE*.

Nitpick, was his beard suppose to change like that between scenes? Tell me I wasn't the only one to notice. It was really distracting in the bird scene, which I found oddly hilarious, and a lot shorter in the apartment. I like the shorter beard because the longer and unruly one was freaking me out a little.

And...his character is very similar to Nine. Hopefully without the tragedy. Why yes, Megan loved the scene where Claude was wandering around Peter's apartment. He plays the curious kid very well.

Oh I love his voice! Thank you PTB for letting him keep his accent. *falls in love again*

That's it. Felt like a pretty forgettable episode aside from all the Peter/Claude bits.

I'm getting sick of the whole age thing. First, Peter who was 25 though but people kept saying he was 30 while Kring assured himself he was 30 but who turned out to be 26 actually, and now Claire who's supposed to be 17 but turned out to only go 16 though the girl looks clearly older than that... guh... anyway...

Age thing makes me meh... Haven't seen the episode, but I hope CE will make it for me! Can't wait to see him...

Grrrrr...stupid ages. The sad thing is, it's most likely canon now. I believe Hayden is nearly 18.

I definitely think CE will make it for you.

I thought they'd said she was almost 17 (I remember reading/hearing cast members commenting on Hayden being almost 18 and Claire being almost 17, too). And now they've de-yeared her? Why?

You know, everytime I think he's just going to give a performance like any other actor, he blows through that like a hurricane. Claude was far more interesting than he needed to be! Peter even did seem a bit more lively than usual. Clearly, MV was dazzled by CE (who wouldn't be), but I'm glad to see it's come out positively rather than fearfully.

I'm wondering if it's just a combing issue, because surely they didn't spread his schedule far enough that he had time to grow another inch of beard! It's not like he's a particularly hairy guy. But I can't remember now where I read it, but I did read something about him possibly getting de-scruffied later.

Oh, I think there's tragedy. It's in his eyes. Which could tie in nicely with the Claire's Daddy storyline - although I'm betting it's actually Eric Roberts, which wouldn't be nearly as interesting. I just have this vision of him crying. C'mon. He does it so well.

Maybe it's just Eccleston being Eccleston, but damn, he brings so many layers to the simplest parts, and Claude isn't that simple.

I don't know. I thought she was 16 going on 17, and now she's not even 16. It's just weird now.

Hmmm...I don't know about that. His longer hair is more balanced with the beard. But I'm picky like that. I still think he's gorgeous looking like that.

Oh, definitely. I saw that Claude wasn't so simple when he was in Peter's apartment. It was there, you saw it. Guh that man, I was glad my dad couldn't see me while we watched the episode because I couldn't wipe the huge grin off my face whenever CE was on the screen.

Well, was it ever said on the show, made canon before, that Claire was 17?

Then again, the idea that they're buying time so as not not to deal with a Peter/Claire coupling makes sense.

I'm not specialist about the American high school system, but according to people who are familiar with, you have to be at least 16 going on 17 if you want to be Homecoming Queen and if you're talking about your SAT, you have to be in the latter part of your junior year or during your senior year.

I'd personnaly add that making Claire's 15-16 limits her storyline. I mean, I don't see her going on the road while she's not even about to become 18. A 15 years old girl on the streets of New York or wherever... that's kind of nuts...

But I'm quite sure it has to do with the amount of attention Paire has received. Kring wanted to make sure people realize that Claire was 16 and Peter 30, so he probably integrated the age thing in the show. But 15??? wooo, that's rude!

Well, it's not really age that matters, it's the grade you're in. Although, I thought Homecoming Queens could only be seniors(17/18 years old) and you can take SATs anytime, just you're more likely to do best, like you said, latter part of your junior year or senior year.

What gets me is that Hayden herself looks older than her age, and they're making her character that young, it's been a pet peeve of mine for a long time. 30-year-olds playing 17-year-olds.

Personally, I feel they have no actual reason to make her 15/16. It would have just made more sense for Claire to be Hayden's age.

I think Kring might be putting emphasis on the age thing because he never planned anything for Peter/Claire beyond "Save the cheerleader/Save the world" and now he's trying to break it that he's not looking to plan anything. I don't know.

Well, I don't know much but the point was that making her young like that was not a very smart move, given the Homecoming thing, Hayden's appearance, and the storyline of the character... but well, now that it's done, it's done. I think shippers from whatever pairings have learn to come across obstacles like that and live in denyial land.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if people actually keep thinking of Claire as a 17 years old girl, because TPTB messed up on the age thing so much that they make it totally unbelievable...
