Stargate: Atlantis
Feb. 6th, 2007 01:45 pmJust watched the finale. Wow.
Maybe I have a different reading on the character, but the concerns that Elizabeth voiced to Teyla seemed in character, if at an inappropriate time. Beginning of S3, she was being questioned about her leadership(correct?), she was kicked out of Atlantis(denied the chance to stay behind for relations between Earth and Atlantis), faced the danger of getting back the city and the threat of getting the city back and having to go back to Earth anyway, lost Carson and now having another military commander come and take charge.
We've seen her question her decisions before, she's not always so confident. A lot of times she gets her way. For once, no one's really siding with her(except Rodney, whom really could do nothing about it). Even John was thrilled with the idea. But he never spoke against her, but I was forced to notice he never spoke against the new Colonel either.
Her mentioning that she might have to step down, well, it sounded like it could be something she now wants to do, on her own terms instead of being forced, or she may feel that's what they'll be forcing her to do when the ordeal is over.
With the current situation they're in, I'm hoping the first few episodes end up back-to-back in terms of time passing, so that the recurring bit they talk about with Elizabeth is because she's recovering. And then she's back full time. *crosses fingers, hopes and prays*
I'm sorry, can I make it more obvious who my favorite character is?
Poor Elizabeth though, being thrown around like that. *huggles Lizzie* *clings to Torri*
Ahem.
John's a dork, isn't he? I have to admit, I got a huge laugh out of the Fantastic Four bit. How was Teyla/RL able to keep a straight face like that? She so serious asked "Why do you get to be Mr. Fantastic?" And "I am not invisible". HAHA. And I really liked that she seemed to be completely backing Lizzie. At one point, John, Ronon and Ellis all went one way with Teyla and Elizabeth going another.
It's kinda nice to see that John and Elizabeth still butt heads once in a while, haven't seen that for a while. But, it seemed like at one point John was looking for permission, and he seemed quite disappointed and even upset almost when all he got was "Good luck" and to watch Elizabeth walk away. If this were any other show, I know we'd be looking forward to John's remorse over their disgreements while she lay in the infirmary. Now, I can't even be sure anyone will angst over her. *cries* Besides me.
I...it's hard for me to watch the show sometimes because I've come to be such a complete Weir-fan, I don't know why, I connect with her. And while things aren't looking as dire for the "recurring" thing we all know of, I'm still worried.
Jewel Staite looked quite pretty, I like her longer, brighter hair. She still just looks too young. But yay for mentioning Carson, even if it caused Elizabeth to sorta run away from her.
Damnit, I keep coming back to the same thing. Something that made me happy? There was no ship, at least that I could see. Okay, no ship that I didn't like at least.
So, Radek/Rodney, yeah? Heh.
*sigh* That's it. It was quite a good episode, not best ever, although I can see why some are calling it that. If Ellis had been more like the commander from "The Seige 2", I would have absolutely loved it.
