Welcome new flisters whom I've picked up from the SGA/SG1 Friending Meme. Because I'm weird or whatever.
Ahem.
I just wanted to put this little post up, like warning or something.
I love Chris Eccleston *points to icon*, seriously, he's my man. And I am currently squeeing over Heroes because hethrows people off roofs rocks. I occasionally have meta/discussion posts about the newer Doctor Who, less now because it's on haitus. Just want until March, when it's back. Also, Torchwood once in a while.
Um...currently am being eaten alive by SGA, which is a bit painful. Just a word here, I'm an Elizabeth fan first, Sheppard/Weir shipper second. I hope my shipping preferences don't bother anyone, as I really don't care who you ship. Yeah, what I mean by that is that I don't base opinions on people by who they ship.
I'm not very big on McShep though, as I view them as brotherly(shock!) and really not into Sheppard/Teyla. Most other ships, I can be pretty open to. McKay/Weir? Cute. McKay/Teyla? Yes and even Carson/Teyla. *sigh* That one could have had an interesting potential. Um...I've said it before probably, but I could ship Elizabeth with anyone, really. I have a huge Lizzie/Teyla softspot, friendship or whatever. And I find Ronon/Weir hot. Yeah, I'm a bad Sparky shipper.
But there will be no bashing! I'm huge on expressing my opinions and people understanding that it's my opinion, ask my older flisters(not that you guys are old or anything). Respect my opinion because I work hard to respect others, even if it's an opinion I don't like.
I hardly lock entries, now it seems I do it when I need to.
I also have a graphics journal, which when I update, I post here to let y'all know. I'm a comment whore as well. But I don't get bitchy about it.
I have language problems, as in, I will use strong language whenever excited or angry. See previous posts for examples.
I'm...missing something?
I'm an American and I live in Florida. Is that important?
DUDE, I caught "The Empty Child" on BBCAmerica the other day, I really think it's better, just a tiny, itty bitty bit, than "The Doctor Dances".
*flails a bit* *hugs flist*

Date: 2007-02-07 06:24 pm (UTC)It's fantastic, isn't it? I love it. I hate to even separate the two episodes, they are so tightly woven together. TEC builds terrific tension and is scary as I have ever seen, and this is a kid's show - it's not about blood and gore, it's about surprise and concept! And Nancy is wonderful. But TDD is such a tremendous release, and its sheer exuberance and joy is just not something you see very often. ;-)
In the meantime, Claude SO rocks (this has been a theme all week among my RL friends - "Did Claude rock or what?/Claude SO rocked." I loved the tossing off the roof, but I really think the clocking of Peter is one of my favourite TV moments in years. I like Peter all right (he's a bit old to be so wet), but I have wanted to do that since episode one!

Date: 2007-02-07 06:30 pm (UTC)Oh Claude. I think he wanted to sock Peter from the moment they met, and just wanted for the right moment, which as my dad pointed out, was a good moment to do so.
And I keep getting a giggle out of the fact that the name of the next Heroes episode is "Run!"

Date: 2007-02-08 03:15 am (UTC)Yeah, I had that, too, because they were so (I hate this word, but it's appropriate) cheesy. He was handing her such a line, and it irritated me that she was falling for it - because her pretty boy thing is one of the least endearing qualities to Rose! I really didn't like Jack until Boom Town, seeing him interact with the two of them. But in retrospect, it was well done - I like that John Barrowman had the guts to play Jack as sleazy as he did at the beginning and didn't care if you liked him. It was great for the part. Some actors really want to be liked above all. Others (most of the good ones) just want you to believe them.
But also because I think the scene between Nine and Doctor Constantine is one of the best, for sheer creepiness.
That did freak me out entirely - very few things were as scary as that transformation. But there's also a haunting emotional quality to that scene (sob! I miss emotional depth in DW!), in Constantine trying to hold things together, and the recognition in the Doctor, the way it reminded him of his past. It's a beautiful scene. I love great acting.
Oh Claude. I think he wanted to sock Peter from the moment they met, and just wanted for the right moment, which as my dad pointed out, was a good moment to do so.
It was perfect. Really, I have a bit of a hard time with Peter, he's too wishy washy, and Claude called him on it. MV is streets better with CE, too, than he has been even with Adrian Pasdar.

I know. I normally hate too much reference-dropping, but they've done a very good job of doing it lightly.

It's the eyes, man, gets me everytime. But it's such a well written and well done scene. Draws you in even when it's so quiet.

For someone's who's father and close brother are involved in politics, he can be very naive and a little too optimistic about others. It's nice that he's not so jaded, but for that type of character, he should be a little bit. But MV is much better around CE and I'm glad for that.
